The shape and size of this small refuge give it the air of a fairy tale cottage. Add two mountain lakes and you’ll see why so many walkers come up from Passo Rolle or (with a little more effort) from San Martino di Castrozza to stop at the Rifugio Laghi di Colbricon. Did you know that from these little lakes there is a beautiful view of the south wall of the Marmolada, the one that usually likes to stay hidden away, surrounded by other peaks? In the other direction, instead, you’ll notice that the rock is red: you are in a wild and fascinating place where the Dolomites end and the Lagorai begins. Open From 20 June to 20 September Before leaving for your hike, always contact the manager to verify the actual opening of the mountain hut Walks The Rifugio Laghi di Colbricon is the eastern starting point for the traverse of the Lagorai. From here you can climb Colbricon (40 minutes, for experienced walkers) and Cavallazza (1 hour, easy).
