TEMPORARY EXHIBITION / GLACIER‘S END – A COLOURFUL STUDY OF OUR CHANGING EXISTEN
Guided dialog with Philipp & Stefan Santifaller / Glacier' End - A colourful study of our changing existence 24.03.2024, 11:00 - 12:00 am LUMEN. Museum of Mountain Photography, Kronplatz, Bruneck, South Tyrol The event will be held in German. Participation only with registration: to registration (Registration is also required for the cable car) Registration deadline: 23.03.2024, 15:00 (after this date, registrations can only be accepted for participation in the curator's tour, NOT for the cable car) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The exhibition showcases a targeted series of artworks from the past three years. These exclusive works are fragments of spatial and temporal dimensions that anachronistically defy thematic order. The brothers succeed in unleashing physical places into a rational realm of thought and transforming them into aesthetic settings through stylistic and colorful contrasts. What remains are surfaces, structures, and stylistic textures that take shape in the minds of viewers and ultimately transcend pure perception as a rational mechanism. No limits are imposed on their compositions. Observation transforms into a solitary experience, becoming a privilege of seclusion, comparable to an exclusive dialogue between observers and the artwork itself. Aesthetic forms and patterns of an entirely new and unknown world flow toward the critical awareness of climate change facing our planet. The fusion of abstract and colorful aesthetics as conflicting poles in this series alludes to the consequences of change in the mountain and glacier world. Simultaneously, space is created for personal expression and subjective opinion formation. Monochromatic backgrounds act as placeholders, enhancing the consciousness aspects of the works and the thematic coherence in the minds of the viewers. The artists‘ body of work focuses on capturing real glimpses of reality refined by a subjective artistic touch of color finesse as an individual trademark. Years of experience allow them to push the boundaries of technical possibilities and give a artistic nuance of self-awareness to the natural. The exhibited artworks are free from digital alienations on the PC. Each work lacks associative or documentary characteristics. Sophie Olivotto (Art Historian)
