Winter traffic regulations: All vehicles travelling along the Dolomites road network in the period between 15/11/2021 and 15/04/2022 must be equipped with winter tyres or have snow chains on board.

From German-speaking countries, you can travel with Deutsche Bahn (German Railways), Österreichische Bundesbahnen (Austrian Railways) and Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen (Swiss Railways).
The twelve valleys of the Dolomites are easy to access via the South Tyrolean railways and Italian railways. Don’t forget to check the website of the local and regional trains.

Another tip: long-distance buses! For example, several Munich bus companies offer routes from the Bavarian capital to South Tyrol.
