Sustainability on the slopes

Lifts that work with hydroelectric energy, snowmaking systems that reuse rainwater, slopes that wind through a Natural Park, a card to move freely without a car in an area declared 100% renewable by Legambiente: here are some of the ingredients that make San Martino di Castrozza-Passo Rolle a truly eco-friendly ski area!

Natura We care about Nature
We care about Nature

The 60 km of this area are protected by the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino natural park and the crown of Dolomite peaks that will accompany you at every turn will continually remind you of the extraordinary nature of this corner of Trentino and will make you understand why UNESCO decided to add these places in the World Heritage list.

Welcome!

Welcome!

If you have finally decided to switch to an electric car and say goodbye to your old petrol car, a trusted companion but not at all friendly to the environment, San Martino will become one of your favourite destinations! Get ready to say goodbye to the anxiety of running out of kilowatts that always risks ruining your vacation! Here the hunt for the charging station is just a memory: between the valleys of Primiero and Vanoi you will find about twenty of them, all public, connected to the Neogy network and accessible quickly and easily even with your credit card. Add to these the recharging points made available by numerous hotels and restaurants that adhere to the ‘The Dolomites recharge’ initiative, which guarantees guests free recharging. Upon your arrival at the hotel you will receive a free skibus card, an excellent incentive to leave your car in the garage anyway and move without worries! During the booking phase, the Trentino Guest Card will also be issued, a card that during your holiday (and also to reach your destination!) will allow you to use the means of transport throughout Trentino, take advantage of discounts on various services and activities, and 8 hours of free car recharging!

...because in addition to being clean it is also zero-km. These towns in the Dolomites have indeed 14 hydroelectric plants, which together with the two biomass heating plants, have allowed local communities to obtain the title of ‘100% renewable territory’ from Legambiente. Even the ski lifts use the same Made in Primiero energy, as do the artificial snow systems. The production of artificial snow recycles the rainwater collected during the summer season thanks to modern storage basins perfectly integrated with the surrounding environment, and no additives are used for the production of snow. In this way, when the white mantle melts, the water used to produce snow becomes available again, favouring a conscious use of the precious resource.
