We care about Nature
The 60 km of this area are protected by the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino natural park and the crown of Dolomite peaks that will accompany you at every turn will continually remind you of the extraordinary nature of this corner of Trentino and will make you understand why UNESCO decided to add these places in the World Heritage list.
Skiing in a (green) masterpiece
Welcome!
If you have finally decided to switch to an electric car and say goodbye to your old petrol car, a trusted companion but not at all friendly to the environment, San Martino will become one of your favourite destinations! Get ready to say goodbye to the anxiety of running out of kilowatts that always risks ruining your vacation! Here the hunt for the charging station is just a memory: between the valleys of Primiero and Vanoi you will find about twenty of them, all public, connected to the Neogy network and accessible quickly and easily even with your credit card. Add to these the recharging points made available by numerous hotels and restaurants that adhere to the ‘The Dolomites recharge’ initiative, which guarantees guests free recharging. Upon your arrival at the hotel you will receive a free skibus card, an excellent incentive to leave your car in the garage anyway and move without worries! During the booking phase, the Trentino Guest Card will also be issued, a card that during your holiday (and also to reach your destination!) will allow you to use the means of transport throughout Trentino, take advantage of discounts on various services and activities, and 8 hours of free car recharging!
The fuel energy in Primiero has an extra gear
...because in addition to being clean it is also zero-km. These towns in the Dolomites have indeed 14 hydroelectric plants, which together with the two biomass heating plants, have allowed local communities to obtain the title of ‘100% renewable territory’ from Legambiente. Even the ski lifts use the same Made in Primiero energy, as do the artificial snow systems. The production of artificial snow recycles the rainwater collected during the summer season thanks to modern storage basins perfectly integrated with the surrounding environment, and no additives are used for the production of snow. In this way, when the white mantle melts, the water used to produce snow becomes available again, favouring a conscious use of the precious resource.
Interesting, right?
If you want to learn more and discover the sustainable side of skiing, do not miss the Ski backstage, a guided tour organized on Alpe Tognola that will reveal the small and great details that make this white circus truly green! You will discover that the new-generation systems are designed to minimize noise pollution and that the snow groomers use the GPS system to avoid waste and always choose the shortest route.
From the slopes to the table it is an instant and you will also find sustainability on your plate!
The malghe and refuges on the slopes pay particular attention to the choice of raw materials, and will amaze you at every stop with dishes capable of enhancing the excellent products of these valleys, from the multi-award-winning BioNoc' beer to the delicious cheeses of the Caseificio di Primiero.
In addition to skiing...
you can choose from many offers that will let you discover this paradise from an unusual point of view: from excursions with snowshoes at 2,700 meters above sea level in the company of Alpine Guides, to tandem paragliding with qualified instructors, from hikes with operators of the Natural Park, to trips through the snowy woods aboard the Troika, the traditional horse-drawn sleigh, not to mention the many delicious experiences at sunrise and sunset along the Cheese Route of the Dolomites. All slow activities that will truly make you feel one with nature!
