The culinary trump card: mountain huts on Kronplatz

Looking for the perfect symbiosis of Tyrolean specialities and Italian cuisine? Then you’re in luck with the huts on Kronplatz. And, as an added bonus, some are even adding international touches to their menus. A culinary voyage around the world – there is plenty on offer, from speck-flavoured dumplings with sauerkraut, to wok dishes with shiitake mushrooms, to spaghetti carbonara.

Added to this is the breathtaking panorama that accompanies every forkful – that is what makes Kronplatz so unique. You are spoilt for choice: will we eat on the sun terrace or in cosy traditional parlour? Let the weather decide and one of the roughly 30 Italian hosts spoil you rotten!

Bonus tip: take a shopping trip to the Pustertal valley. Soak in the charming atmosphere of the narrow Italian alleyways and bring a souvenir home to your nearest and dearest!

Shopping around the Kronplatz

Shopping

Shopping for the handmade, the local – taking a piece of vacation home with you.

At farmers' markets and weekly markets, freshly harvested fruits and vegetables are piled up to dizzying heights.  This is the place to buy direct from the producers! In the lively, colorful via Centrale-Stadtgasse of Bruneck-Brunico, small shops are lined up next to big-name boutiques, and in every free space in between, a café or an aperitif bar squeezes in.  The original South Tyrol-Südtirol look of traditional costume next to Italian fashion labels, gourmet shops next to organic food stores, the rustic next to the latest.
