Description
The Laurin I cable car starts from Welschnofen/Nova Levante (1182 m) and you can comfortably reach the Frommer Hut (1743 m). Via the trail entrance you get to the gravel path [1A]. Follow them, which after about a kilometre leads briefly onto the main road Nigerstraße/Via Nigra, until shortly after the Ochsenhütte Hut the gravel path continues through a breathtaking alpine landscape to the Karerpass/Passo Costalunga (1752 m). Just before the Karerpass/Passo Costalunga, the descent is a little steeper along the gravel path [548] to a car park. Then turn right and follow the main road to the Restaurant Antermont (1750 m). Following the paths [21], [13] and [10], you reach the Rainbow lake of the Dolomites, Lake Carezza (1544 m).Continue on the trail “Templweg” [8] and then on trail [25A], which branches off to the right. At the next junction, turn left along trail [25] until just before the Stadl Alm hut, where trail [27] leads steadily downhill to Welschnofen/Nova Levante.

Details
If you drive below the Catinaccio and through the Latemar forest, you will reach Lake Carezza. This fairytale lake lies at the foot of the Latemar and reflects the beautiful mountain range. Lake Carezza is always a worthwhile excursion destination: in spring it is full of water while in autumn, you can catch sight of the nymph on the shore who, according to legend, lives there.
