Nova Ponente

The largest village in Obereggen skiing and hiking area is Nova Ponente. With an area of 112 km², this village is one of the largest municipalities in South Tyrol, too – even clocking up the most hours of sunshine in 2016! Surrounded by the Catinaccio and Latemar massifs and the Corno Bianco and Corno Nero mountains, this mountain village lies on a high plateau in Val d’Ega amidst extensive woodland and meadows.

The village of Ega nestles amidst the dense forests that cover the slopes of the Latemar massif. Forming part of the wider community of Nova Ponente at an altitude of 1,120 metres, the hamlets of Ponte Nova, Obereggen and Rauth together form the perfect place for delightful excursions!

The village of Obereggen lies at an altitude of 1,550 metres at the foot of the Obereggen skiing area, or rather at the bottom station and all around.

Monte San Pietro - Maria Weissenstein

Monte San Pietro is a true mountain hamlet. Located at an altitude of 1,380 metres, there are just 700 inhabitants. Yet this tiny offshoot of Nova Ponente has a surprising amount to offer!
