Queen of the Dolomites
Cortina d’Ampezzo is a small mountain resort nestled at 1.224 meters in the Dolomites, UNESCO Natural World Heritage Area since 2009. Hosting the 1956 Winter Olympics, the first games broadcast live on television, firmly established Cortina as a prestigious location for winter sports. Indeed, Cortina will host the FIS Ski World Championships in 2021 and is running with Milan to host the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Cortina d’Ampezzo is the only Italian resort part of the exclusive Association Best of the Alps: Cortina is not only well-known worldwide for its breathtaking panoramas and international events but also for the long hospitality tradition and for being a privileged stage for La Dolce Vita.
