Alta Badia
Precious moments to be savoured in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site
Alta Badia, in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site, is surrounded by the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park and the Puez-Odle Nature Park, and some of the finest Dolomite peaks.

Alta Badia is the Alpine region that offers the most precious moments to be savoured in the mountains. Our valley combines the beauty of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site with Ladin traditions and culture and has many valuable moments of well-being to offer to tourists.
As the sun goes down, for example, the majestic peaks of the Dolomites turn pink, orange and fiery red which produces the breath-taking natural spectacle of the Enrosadira – the Alpenglow.
Summer in Alta Badia
In summer Alta Badia is a popular destination for people enjoying an active holiday. The six villages of our small valley constitute excellent starting points for excursions and mountain hikes surrounded by the majestic natural beauty of the Dolomites.
Anyone who has a passion for cycling will not be short-changed in Alta Badia. The valley is the perfect place to experience spectacular moments on two wheels, with routes for racing and mountain bikes as well as hosting three international cycling events. By the way, the legendary Dolomite passes are closed to motorised traffic during these events. The world-famous cycling marathon MARATONA DLES DOLOMITES-ENEL was first staged here in Alta Badia in 1987. The cycling marathon is now attended every July by 9,000 enthusiastic road bikers. By contrast, two non-competitive cycling events are held in June: the Dolomites Bike Day –over a route of 108 km the longest bike day event in Europe where the roads are closed to all other traffic and there is no entry fee, and the Sellaronda Bike Day. Both cycling events are accessible free of charge to all cyclists and without prior registration. The routes of the two Bike Days follow the route of the Maratona dles Dolomites-Enel Marathon and other Dolomite routes that have featured in the history of cycling.
