La Strada del Fieno (Hay-way)
- 1.650 m
Go up on the Pecol – Pian del Crep cablecar, and then go to your left in the direction of the Cristelin mountain hut, along in fact the ski slope. Then leaving the hut behind to your left you carry on on a wide farm road (585) and you follow this until you come to the Schirata forest road, and this will then take you down to the Maè torret which you can descend by on the right side. Once you arrive at the old houses and barns of De la de l’Aiva, which you well then pass to the right (the road to the left would take you back to the centre of Maresòn, 1334 m, where the onion shaped bell tower of the S. Valentino church stands out), you go along the narrow road as far as Palma (1300 m approx and about 30 minutes away). Here you will also find a pizzeria-restaurant which has a large play area for kids in the adjoining field and there is also a stable and riding area
To return to Pècol you follow a short part of the road that leads to Pianaz, on road numbered 251. Straight after the bridge on the Maè you should take the path to your left which borders the torrent and that passes by the village of Mareson.
You continue on the same road and then along the village road itself as far as Grava, where there is an old sawmill, now no longer in use, and an old restructured limje furnace, where once the stone used for the construction of the buildings of Mareson and Pècol was prepared. Moving on to the left you cross the Rio Canèdo and the Maè torrent and take the path which goes up to the square by the cablecar. An easy walk to admire the villages of Pecol and Mareson from a different perspective
