Col Margherita (2514m) is one of the most popular viewpoints in the Dolomites, a UNESCO world heritage site. It serves both as an incredibly fascinating panoramic deck, and as a starting point for various excursions. You can easily reach the summit in the cable car from the San Pellegrino Pass, then come back down to the valley by walking for 1.5 hours down a dirt road; stop for a short break on the shores of Lake Cavia, then go back up on the yellow-blue path towards the Le Caviette area. From there, you can head back to the station downstream of the Col Margherita cable car by walking along a panoramic dirt road
