Cima Juribrutto - Alta via Mariotta
- Alpe Lusia – San Pellegrino
- Cima Juribrutto (2697m)
Stretching from Col Margherita (2514m) to the Juribrutto mountain pass is the Alta Via Mariotta, a very interesting route from a historical perspective as it is full of evidence of the First World War. Head up on the Col Margherita cable car, then set out on the trail that follows the ridge westwards, to the peak of Juribrutto (2697m). All around you, you can see trenches and the remains of military outposts that housed the Italian troops on the Bocche front. It then heads back to the San Pellegrino Pass, hugging the dark face of Juribrutto and going back up along a narrow path until it reaches the Pas de l’Ors (2267m), from which you head down amongst small larches into the basin of the same name. On the left you can catch a glimpse of the stunning lake. You can then reach the San Pellegrino Pass by crossing through a sweeping meadow. You can take this route in reverse by following path number 628 from the San Pellegrino Pass near the San Pellegrino “Malga” (Alpine cottage), then using the cable car to head down from Col Margherita.
