Val di Fassa
SKITOUR PANORAMA
AMONG SKY, SNOW AND ENCHANTED PEAKS
As described in many tales of the Dolomites, a new gate will
be open to join an enchanting brand-new ski carousel amid the Dolomites:
from Pozza di Fassa to reach the slopes of the Ciampac in Alba and
from here, by skibus, the Canazei Belvedere ski area at hand in
a few minutes.
Leaving from Pozza by the Buffaure cabin lift means to be surrounded
by the amazing sceneries of the Catinaccio, the Latemar and, at
a distance, the stateliness of the Sassolungo. Enchanted mountains
and peaks which had given birth to legends and tales populated by
kings and queens, gnomes, fairies and witches. And, once reached
the top station, from the Col de Valvacin chair lift the sight of
the jagged outline of the Monzoni provides a deep feeling of wonder,
surrounded by the majesty of the San Nicolò valley and the
snowy cliffs of the Giumela valley. Two new lifts, Pala del Geiger
and Orsa Maggiore, lead to the Sella Brunech summit at 2428 mt.
The panorama from here leaves one breathless and astonished: from
the Rosengarten to the Sassolungo and up until the Marmolada. And
after a long and demanding downhill down the black slope “del
Bosco” the descent to Alba completes a tour of unimaginable
suggestion.
The lakeCarezza Skiing Tour : King Laurin
The Laurin skiing tour moves on next to the Paolina hut with a panoramic view which is simply out of this world over the kingdom of the legendary dwarf king, who was proud of his Rosengarten. On the meadows of Moseralm Laurin courted his great love, the Princess Simhild. He tried to win her hand without success and then resorted to kidnapping the lovely maiden! With the Moseralm skilifts we reach the point under the rocky fortress which symbolised Laurin’s kingdom. The Laurin tour follows on to the Tschein, over which Simhild’s brother and the Goth King Dietrich rode determined to save the princess. They freed her and subsequently Laurin was beside himself with rage. The flower in his life suddenly became a thorn in his side so he fled from Rosengarten … “neither the bright day nor the dark night of the splendid Rosengarten ever to see again”. But Laurin forgot about the moment between day and night – the twilight. What a pity! When the sun lies behind the peaks in its peaceful way, the Dolomite twilight is rosy red. |
