Mountains of legends, culture, traditions, sport and much more to be discovered amongst these enchanted mountains, the kingdom of the legendary King Laurino. The famous king was the guardian of this enchanted valley, where even today a fire is lit every evening at dusk giving origin to the unforgettable phenomenon of light called "Enrosadira". Over time the "Ladins" of Val di Fassa have guarded this valley of incomparable beauty, stretching over about 20 km and surrounded by some of the Dolomites' most famous peaks: Roda di Vael, Catinaccio, Sassolungo, Sella group, Pordoi, Monzoni, over which Marmolada stands undisputed.

Since tourism began in the nineteenth century Val di Fassa has opened its doors to an ever-increasing clientele, making the most of its economic potential. Tourism today has become the principal industry of the valley and the results are tangible. There is a large network of paths and walks, endless opportunities for sport and relaxation, tradition and culture, hospitality and fun, 7 resorts (Moena, Soraga, Vigo, Pozza di Fassa, Mazzin, Campitello di Fassa, Canazei) and nine ski resorts with 230 km of pistes.

Ski area

In winter, Val di Fassa drives ski and snowboard fans just crazy. Besides the Sellaronda (Four Passes Tour), 3 skitours, 7 snowparks, 230 km ski slopes (ski areas Val di Fassa/Carezza and TreValli) always in perfect conditions thanks to the advanced snowmaking system, served by 83 up-to-date lifts which guarantee a fast and effective transportation to the highest altitudes. Val di Fassa is one of the most complete and famous ski districts in the Dolomites with 9 different ski areas, linked to each other by means of slopes or ski bus services. The attention shown to the kids is a service which operators in Val di Fassa area are proud of and which families truly apprecciate. The nurseries for kids (ski kindergarten on the snow) allow parents to ski away for an hours or two knowing that their children are being looked after by professionals.
