Her majesty welcomes you to a landscape of rare beauty.

Faced with such beauty it would be easy to remain speechless and open-mouthed. Such is the majesty before your eyes that no rational response can be predicted! Once you have taken all in your senses will tingle at the prospect of spending more time here.

The Queen of the Dolomites  - The Marmolada. The highest peak there is in the Dolomites Superski carousel and a real mecca for winter sports enthusiasts.

If you enjoy a challenge then this is the one for you – high altitude and the mystical silence of the mountain highs await you.

Skiing on the "Queen"

The Marmolada ski resort offers perfectly groomed slopes, cozy mountain refuges and restaurant and modern ski lifts that allow the tourist to reach in a few minutes the remarkable altitude of more than 3000 meters and to enjoy an incomparable view over the surrounding peaks of the Dolomites.

In the Marmolada ski area, skiers can find also the longest ski slope of the Dolomites, the so-called “Bellunese”, that is over 12 kilometers from the top of the mountain until the hamlet of Malga Ciapela; it is also one of the access points to the legendary "Sellaronda" or "Four Passes Tour", an amazing ski tour that encompasses four different valleys (Arabba - Fassa - Gardena - Badia).

Ice climbing

Marmolada is one of the most famous places among the ice-climbing aficionados, above all for the area of Laste and the Serrai di Sottoguda, a natural canyon of almost two kilometers; in winter, the walls of the Serrai become completely covered with frozen waterfalls (more than 20 different waterfalls), making this place the Mecca of expert climbers and a good place for the beginners in order to learn how to practice this adrenalinic sport, maybe under the supervision of an expert mountain guide.

Museum

In addition to the extraordinary landscape of the Dolomites, Marmolada offers to her guests a valuable and well-stocked museum at the Serauta station containing finds and testimonies of the Great War and the well-known chapel dug into the rock at Punta Rocca. Furthermore, at the Tourist Office of Sottoguda is located the brand-new Multimedial Centre Delcroix, an interactive museum which deals with the everyday life of the soldiers involved in the Great War. Both museum can be visited free of charge.
