In the 45 atmospheric Dolomite mountain villages you will find three cultures which have enriched each other over the years: Italian, German and Ladin. The Ladins came here in 15 BC, at the time of the ancient Roman empire. Thanks to the remoteness of the Dolomite valleys their culture and language was preserved over the centuries. Today, some 25,000 Dolomite Ladins still speak Rhaeto-Romanic, a language originating in vulgar Latin. More ...
